Gotta start somewhere...

So this is my first post. Not quite sure where to begin but lately so much has been happening in my life. Not that my life has ever been boring, but quite frankly I would welcome some boredom...or at least not quite so much going on to stress me out.

The best part is I got engaged to the most wonderful man on the planet earth! Jeff and I have been dating for nearly 3 years and in November of 2008 we made our intentions to spend the rest of our lives together as husband and wife clear to each other and our family and friends.

We are now starting to plan the big day which hasn't been the easiest as we have really been hit hard by this rotten economy. I haven't worked in 10 months and really haven't had a permanent job in 2 years. Jeff's business has hardly been much to speak of for the last two years until the past couple of months when mortgage rates really dropped and he's been able to process a few (yes, he's a mortgage broker). I thank God every day though that we have gotten by and have a nice roof over our heads and good food on our table!

Ok, so our wedding day will be done on a shoe string and the more we thought about it the more we thought we should just run away! Well, the one thing I couldn't do without was having my children "give me away" so they are going with us. As we looked more into this it was going to cost a bundle as well so the frustrations continued until my dear Auntie came to our rescue and offered a most generous gift of loaning us the time at her vacation home in Tahoe for the long weekend we wanted to get married and have a short "honeymoon" with Karina and Paul. NOW it is decided. We hope to get married through the services of www.atahoedreamwedding.com at the Tahoe Paradise Resort which means we may even be able to ask our family and friends to elope with us and witness our exchanging of vows! More later...
